Rozell Dyson

Rozell Dyson was born July 23, 1931 in Millington, TN. He was born to the union of Virgil and Sallie Bell Dyson. He was the sixth child of twelve children: 3 sisters: Katherine Walker, Mammie Walker, Florence Buckley (Deceased); 8 brothers: James Dyson, Louis Dyson, the brothers that are deceased: Eddie Dyson, Clinton Dyson, Joseph Dyson, Odell Dyson, Raymond Dyson, and Virgil Lee Dyson.

Rozell attended Lincoln Memorial School, Kellar Junior High School and Eisenhower High School. He also attended Truck Driving School when employed by Argonne National Laboratory.

Rozell met and later married Evelyn Kemp on April 28, 1951. This year marks 70 years of marriage. To this union was born 10 children: 6 daughters: Gwendolyn (Deceased) (Mark) Woods, Linda Dyson, Rochelle Currie, Sandra Grandison (Deceased), Karen Williams, Theresa (Michael) Jackson, Lolita Tabor (Deceased), Tencree (Robert) Crawford: 4 Sons: Rozell Jr (Deceased) (Christeen) Dyson, Stanley (Jeannette) Dyson, Richard Dyson, Glen Dyson

. Rozell received Christ under the leadership of Pastor Solomon Jones of Evidence Christian Center located in Harvey, IL. Then he joined Anointed Word International Ministries located in Tinley Park, IL under the leadership of Pastor Jacqueline Anderson and served as a deacon. He later became a member of The Lighthouse Church of All Nations located in Alsip, IL under the leadership of Pastor Dan Willis.

Rozell worked for Argonne National Laboratory and retired after 30 years of service, then he worked for Gwendolyn Brooks School as a janitor and security guard. He worked for Illinois School Bus Company as a driver. He worked for Guardian Security Services located in Blue Island, IL as a security guard and for Equipment Steel in Blue Island, IL.

Rozell passions were gardening, yard work, and fishing. He especially liked tilling the ground for planting vegetables such as: collard greens, tomatoes, okra, onions, cabbage, etc. He enjoyed yard work such as planting flowers and cutting grass

. Rozell was a fisherman at heart. He would take his boat out in the middle of the lake at night to fish.

Rozell leaves to cherish his memories, loving wife, Evelyn Dyson, 5 daughters, 3 sons, 31 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
