Alice Smith

Mother Alice Smith was born November 28th, 1929 to Clara Chester and John West Minued. She grew up in Galesburg, IL on her family's farm. She accepted Christ at an early age in Galesburg, IL. She graduated from high school and started in the workforce.She worked as a housekeeper and a nanny in Skokie, IL. Alice would later meet and marry Rocky Smith whom preceded her in death.Together they would have one child Katherine Yevette Smith also known as (Penny) whom also preceded her in death. She attended Mount Moriah Church in Chicago, IL. Then later moved her membership to Holy Garden Of Prayer where she would remain and become a mother of the church until she received her wings and joined her heavenly Father. She worked diligently in church as a prayer warrior and at 12 noon faithfully everyday was her prayer time. She was preceded in death by her parents Clara and John Minued, her husband Rocky Smith, daughter Katherine Smith, Sister Mary Wallker and brother Robert Clarence Minued known as (RC). She leaves behind to cherish three grandchildren Erin, Christine and Cornell Smith seven great grandchildren and a host of great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews too many to name. And her adoptive children that she has watched and helped raise throughout her life. Mother Alice will be remembered for quick wit come backs, encouraging words with scripture and getting you set right.
