Barbara Jean Robinson

March 31, 1953 — March 11, 2024

Our beloved Barbara Jean Robinson, affectionately known as “Cleo” to her family and friends, was born on March 31, 1953, in Gages Spring Community in Durant Mississippi. Barbara was the second eldest child and the oldest daughter of eleven born to her proud parents, the late James Robinson and Bessie Mae Jackson of Gages Springs Community. Barbara accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at eight years old. Barbara was preceded in death by her son- Charlie Robinson; three sisters: Mary Ann Mitchell, Shirley Jean Sutton, Linda Jean Robinson, one brother, Andrew Jackson, and three nephews.

Barbara attended Lexington Attendance Center (LAC) School in Mississippi. She changed her name to “Cleo” because she loved how sharp Cleopatra dressed when she was a young girl. As she got older, she began designing her own clothes and having them tailor made. Cleo loved to dress and wear stylish hats. She loved to party, listen to music, and dance to her favorite songs “Crazy” by Snoop Dogg and “The Big Payback” by James Brown. Cleo loved to laugh, talk, go fishing, and Give Advice.

Throughout her years, Cleo endured and overcame many, many challenges. She was disabled due to an accident that occurred at eight months old. Despite all the challenges she faced, she was always a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and new great-grandmother to Jasiah “King.” On March 11, 2024, God welcomed our beloved Cleo into her eternal resting place.

Barbara “Cleo” Robinson leaves to cherish her memories: Her two children: Katrina Robinson-Oliver (Michael) and Norman Donell Brown, Jr. (Malisia); Four grandchildren: Shunica Latrice Robinson-Ingram (James), Nakil Heard-Oliver, Michaela Oliver, and Saryhia St. Clair; One great-grandson - Jasiah Milon Oliver; One sister, Earline Robinson; Five brothers: Willie James Roberson, Jr (Connie) of Lexington, MS. Cleotha Robinson (Wendy), Lee Henry Roberson, and Willie Jackson, III, all of Baton Rouge, LA, and Clifton Roberson of Isola, MS; and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
