Brenda L. Holmes

Associate Pastor Brenda L. Holmes was born on June 24, 1948 in Chicago Illinois to the Union of the late Napoleon and Louise Perry. She graduated from Harlan Academy High School in 1967, and thereafter attended a community college for two years.
While entering the workforce Brenda Perry was introduced to Vernon Holmes by her soon to be sister-in-law, Thelma Holmes. Vernon and Brenda were joined in holy matrimony on June 5, 1969. Of that union they raised three beautiful children, Toni, Roderick, and Darnell. Brenda accepted the Lord as her Savior over 50 years ago and joined The House of Prayer C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Carroll, where she served as a faithful and dedicated member.

Later in her walk with Christ, Brenda joined the House of God’s Glory Evangelistic Church under the Pastoral leadership of Denise Abrams. She accepted the calling of Associate Pastor within the ministry.

Pastor Brenda was a great prayer warrior and enjoyed interceding on behalf of God’s people. She believed in outreach ministry and served diligently as part of the Hospital Ministry and Juvenile Ministry.

Pastor Brenda enjoyed teaching and preaching the Word of God. In 2016 she joined The Lighthouse Church of All Nations with her husband under the Pastoral leadership of Dr. Dan Willis until she departed this life.

Pastor Brenda went to be with the Lord on October 22, 2020. To cherish her memory she leaves three children: Toni Holmes, Roderick Holmes (Ramona), and Darnell Holmes; seven grandchildren: Kyle, Kourtney, David, Jonathan, Kobe, Simone, and Juwann; one great-grandchild: Khloe; three sisters: Valerie Nelson (Howard), Denise Abrams (Willie), and Cheryl Green (Michael); three brothers: Napoleon Perry (Gayle), Kirk Perry (Theresa) and Maverick Perry (Tanya), and a host of nieces and nephews. Sister, Rita Jean Taylor, and husband, Vernon Holmes proceed her in death. She will be deeply missed by both family and friends.
