Carson went on to study at Chicago Vocational High School and Job Corps until enlisting in the United States Army in October of 1972 where he served in the Vantiem war and received an honorable discharge in August of 1975. After leaving the Army,
Carson worked in many different fields, he was a man of many talents and believed he could fix anything and if he could not fix it, he would say “It can't be fixed then.” Carson studied Business Administration at Kennedy King College and worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant on and off for over twenty years. Carson loved being a Daddy, he enjoyed taking his children to baseball games, on picnics in the park and on shopping trips.
Carson had many hobbies like riding bikes, playing in a softball league, and playing the guitar. Carson briefly played in a band that covered music from his favorite group Earth Wind & Fire, “Reasons” was his favorite song. Well after his actual guitar playing days, Carson could always be seen playing air guitar to almost any music that was playing at the time. In 1998 Carson relocated to Wisconsin and continued to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant until 2001. After retiring from being a Nursing Assistant Carson settled in as a granddaddy and enjoyed playing football with his grandson and video games with his son in law.
