Cynthia Johnson

March 3, 1962 — April 24, 2017

Cynthia Jones Johnson  was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 3, 1962.  She was the youngest child of the late Lela B. Jones.

Cynthia attended Michael Faraday Elementary School and John Marshall High School.  She graduated from Wilbur Wright Junior College majoring in Criminal Justice.

Her work career included positions at Montgomery Ward and Lucent Technology.  Upon relocating to Houston, Texas, Cynthia was gainfully employed at Smith and Associates until her transition.

Cynthia confessed her life to Christ at Monroe Street Church of Christ, under the leadership of the late Bro. Robert M. Woods.

Cynthia was united in Holy matrimony to Anthony Johnson, to this union two sons, Andre and Corey Johnson were born.  Cynthia’s greatest joy was spending time with her sons and great nieces and nephews.  She always looked for ways to entertain them.

Cynthia made her transition, April 24, 2017 at Houston Northwest Hospital.

She is preceeded in death by: her mother, Lela B. Jones; four nephews, Timothy Bliey, Raymond Perry, Jr., Kenneth Jones and Robert Johnson IV; one niece, LaToya Johnson.

Cynthia leaves to cherish her memories: two loving sons, Andre (Jesabel) and Corey Johnson of Houston, Texas; five sisters, Bettye Richmond, Creabessie (Cornelius) Dixon, Patricia Quinn, Agnes (Raymond) Perry of Bellwood, Illinois and Pamelia (Johnathan) Johnson of Spring, Texas; one brother, Don (Shelia) Jones; three nephews; Rodney (Sonja) Quinn, JaMarius Ealy, Brandon Perry; four nieces, Karla Lyons, Traci Jones, Tricina Quinn, Tabitha Lowery; ten great nephews; twelve great nieces; two aunts; Selma Feazell and Mary Ella Jones, both of St. Louis, Missouri; best friend, Derrick Pruitt; and a host of cousins and numerous friends.
