Dianna Meeks

December 16, 1972 — April 10, 2021

DIANNA MEEKS was born December 16, 1972 to Eddie Meeks Jr. and Pearline Meeks in a small town outside of Sunflower County, Mississippi – Mound Boyu.

DIANNA (“Diane” as she is commonly known) spent her childhood years in South Suburban Dixmoor, Illinois. She attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from Thornton Township High School in Harvey, Illinois.

DIANE was well known and had leadership characteristics as a kid and everyone respected her for that. As an adult DIANE made her home on the west side and finally the southside Roseland community until her death.

DIANE was a devoted mother and loved her kids with all her heart. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for them. DIANE devoted her life to her children. There was no burden she wouldn’t bare and no hurdle she wouldn’t jump over to make sure her children were taken care of. No matter where she went, she had to take something home for her kids. DIANE had unwavering love and a strong presence ruled her house. She knew how to hold everyone together no matter what. DIANE was also the “historian” and would spend hours talking about the good old days. She had a story that could relate to any situation a person was in. DIANE would spend forever and a day telling you her narratives of what she had seen, heard and experienced.

DIANE was the life of the party! She didn’t play when it came to her appearance and she will forever be remembered by her red hair, nails, eye lashes and love for leopard prints. Family was everything to DIANE and this was evident by the large crowds that would gather at her home for her annual halloween party for kids and other special occasions. DIANE was the life of the party and loved to dance and have a good time.

Saturday, April 10, 2021 “The Queen” - “Lady D” – “Cat Meeks” - DIANE MEEKS made her transition to life eternal. Her strong presence, motherly wit and stories of her life journey will forever be preserved in our hearts and minds.
