Kevin Ricardo Snead

KEVIN R SNEAD was born into time on December 5, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to Janie Bell Snead, “Blossie”, and Frank Butler (both deceased). He was born into eternity on March 5, 2025. Kevin often spoke of how his mother, “Blossie”, demanded good grades, good behavior in school and in the community and good manners.

Kevin gave his life to Christ at an early age and rededicated himself when he found United Baptist Church of God. Never leaving any task he started incomplete; he immersed himself in church activities. He went to elementary, junior high, and high school with a close group of friends who have stayed very close over the years.

Kevin was graduating from junior high school when he met his wife Jewel who was just entering junior high school. They “went steady” throughout high school and college. Their journey together spanned 52 years of unbreakable love and friendship and 42 years marriage. To their union three children were born, Myya, Marques and Khaylin.

Everyone who knew Kevin knew that he would do anything for his family. He was the “go to” for help with any task, any errand, and any advice. If you knew Kevin you also know that he spoke his mind, no apologies. Kevin became known for his grilling know-how. He would grill for you for any occasion, in any season, and in any weather. Another thing we know about Kevin is that he always had a pocket full of candy.

Kevin will be deeply missed. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Jewel, sons Marques and Khaylin, brothers Carl (Lois) and Eric, sister Brigitte and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Preceding him in his transition from this earthly home are his daughter Myya, mother Janie, father Frank, brother Dane, sister Sharon and nephew Arthur.
