Louise Williams was born on March 2, 1940, in Lewisville, Arkansas to the late Lige and Vera Featherston. Louise was baptized at an early age at Cross Road Baptist church in Lewisville. She departed this life May 15, 2023. Louise left Arkansas as a teenager with her sisters Mary and Alberta and moved north to Argo, Illinois. There she graduated from Argo High School and met her husband Millard Cecil Williams. On March 14, 1960, Louise Featherston and Millard Cecil Williams were united in Holy Matrimony. To this union two children were born: Vena Lynette Nelson and Millard Cecil Muhammad.
Louise attended Triton College and Operation Uplift Secretarial Training which led to her obtaining a job with the American Federation of State, County, & Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Council 31. She worked there for thirty-two years from 1970-2002 as a secretary and office manager.
In Illinois, Louise served as a faithful member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church for over 50 years. There she worked in several ministries including Ushers, Savvy Seniors, Vacation Bible School, and Children’s Sunday School.
Things Louise enjoyed: she loved bowling in her early days; she spent a lot of time in her yard gardening her flowers early in the morning and in the evening as the sun went down; she worked out at the health club Monday through Thursday consistently; she traveled with several girlfriends and senior groups domestically and internationally to places like Egypt, Paris, Rome, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, St. Thomas, Jamaica, Alaska, Bermuda, Hawaii, India, Greece, and Bahamas; and finally she loved and supported her family and friends.
Louise Williams, leaves to cherish her memory: her children Vena Lynette Nelson (Andre), Millard Cecil Muhammad, and Vincent Williams (Charlotte) of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren Rashid Cecil Williams, Andre Nelson II, Kaleema Williams, and Torey Cecil Williams; her great grandchild Zya Williams; her siblings Arthur Lee Featherstone, of Lewisville, Arkansas and Alberta Paschal of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her sister and brother In-Laws Doris L. Worlds of Sacramento California, Louise Chadwick of Sacramento California, and Iva Harris (Ermon) of Las Vegas Nevada; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
