Lv Shaw

July 15, 1935 — May 4, 2022

Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of a precious husband, devoted father, grand-father and a compassionate friend, L.V. Shaw. L.V. was born on July 15, 1935, the only child of Morris Lee Shaw and Novella Williams, both who preceded him in death. As a young man, L.V was a good, hard worker who was employed at a rice farm and at Tunica Compress, a cotton gin in Mississippi. United in marriage in 1956, L.V. married Dollie Lee, his teenage sweetheart and moved from Sledge, Mississippi to Chicago, Illinois.

To this union were born three children. L.V. provided well for his family and was employed as a machine operator, steel mill worker and retired as a construction foreman Interstate General Contractors in 1997. L.V. was a man of many hobbies, which included a love for hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. However, his favorite pastime was spent enjoying his wife, Dollie Lee of 65 years, his children, grand-children and great-grands. L.V. accepted Christ at an early age and in 1972, joined the Mars Hill Baptist Church in Chicago where he served as a choir member and Deacon under the pastorage of the late Rev. C.E. Stowers,.

Sr. L.V. departed this life of labor to reward on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He leaves to cherish his precious memory a loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Dollie Lee, 3 children, Al LaDon (Sandy) of Cedar Hill, Texas, Joyce (Sparky) of Maywood, Illinois and Kenneth Darrin of LaGrange, Illinois, 7 grand-children, Nikole, Deon, Robyn, Rian, Christina, Cory, Twan and a host of great-grands, great-great-grands and a host of family and friends.
