“A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN”

One finds herself engulfed in thoughts of what a new day brings

Eyes open cries heard flowers burst open from the dew

Birds sing and the dawn emerges so does life begin

The early morning awakening brings to Mr and Mrs Charles Humphrey Walton Sr the birth of Maggie M Walton on Feb 27, 1934. She was guided by her parents in moral and Christian principles. She was the oldest of four children.

Maggie graduated from Lucy Flowers High School in Chicago, Illinois making new friends and many acquaintances, one which was lasting. The lasting friendship with Mr AB Archibald III led to courtship, marriage and becoming the parents of their daughters Marcella and Denise. She then furthered her education at Malcolm X College and Kennedy King College where she received her degrees in Childhood Development.

Noon finds herself expressing Christ as her savior with the unification of Central Memorial Baptist Church. She also expresses her human and creative abilities as she pursues her life goal as a teacher at Millard Adgen Day Care teaching children compassion and moral values while urging each child to excel. She worked as a preschool teacher for 26 years. Her personality was like the petal of a rose which left her impact forever ingrained.

During a lengthy illness with dementia for over 14 years, she was tenderly cared for by daughter Denise and all who loved her so much until her demise on Thursday, July 11th 2024 at the age of 90.

Proceeded by her parents and late siblings Charles Walton Jr, Julia Palmer and Fannie Walton. Maggie’s legacy is carried on by her loving daughter Denise Archibald; granddaughter Samantha Barnum; Godchildren Nathan Johnson and Martine Johnson; great grandson Jalen Anderson; in-laws, nieces, nephews will also feel the loss of her absence.

Now the day is over, one finds herself reflecting. There once was a beautiful woman. Now your life is a beautiful memory. Your absence is a silent grief. But you sleep in God’s beautiful garden- In sunshine a perfect peace for a beautiful woman.

Ecclessiates 3:1

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck that which is planted
