Born Michael Ellis on September 25, 1958 in Chicago Illinois. Michael was a very intelligent student, he attended, and graduated from one of Chicagos’ premiere High schools…. Lane Technical. Following graduation, Mike joined the U.S. Navy and served for 7 years as a Yeoman being the Ship’s Secretary, and Legal Clerk entrusted with the highest degree of responsibilities. During his tour he was able to visit far reaches of the world. Upon his Honorable Discharge from the Navy Mike attended Taylor Business Institute of Chicago, receiving his certification in stenography. Afterwards, he joined the Chicago Police Force where he served for 10 years before becoming a Certified Correctional Officer Youth Supervisor & Investigator with the Illinois Department of Corrections for over 10 years. For the past several years he worked at the Veterans Outreach Of Wisconsin as an Office Assistant. He loved his work, and the people he worked with. Michael was a man of faith, always ready and willing to share his belief in God with anyone. He had a sincere passion for helping people, he believed that helping people was not only essential, but also a duty. Michael leaves behind 2 children, Steve and Kandis, seven grandchildren, 2 sisters, 5 brothers, and a host of other family. His legacy of service will be missed. Thanks Michael……Rest in peace.
