Rosetta Blevins

August 30, 1935 — May 22, 2016

Ms. Rosetta Jones was born to the late Charlie and Phyllis Jones in Louise, MS. To this union they also produced a son, Earl Jones. All who have preceded her in death. Rosetta graduated from Humphrey County High School in 1954 where she was the Salutatorian of her class. In 1955, Rosetta gave birth to her first child Patricia Ann Jones. The next year Rosetta migrated to Chicago, IL. When she arrived in Chicago, Rosetta became a nurse's  aide. She loved to help the sick and elderly. It came natural to her to be a caregiver. Rosetta met and married Tom Blevins. To these union two children were born, Rodney Lee and Renee whom both have preceded her in death. Rosetta was a born again Christian. Rosetta found her church home at Mountain Top Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Felix Martin. In ministry Rosetta was the treasurer and usher at her church for over 30 years until her health would not allow her to serve. Rosetta was affectionately known to many as Rose, Sis Blevins and Granny. She loved her church members and her coworkers. Rosetta worked for Kraft General Foods where she held several positions until her retirement. Rosetta loved her family and was a giver in nature. She took care of anyone who needed her help. She was always willing and did things with a joyful heart. The following preceded her in death: sister Idella , nephew Ronnie Jones, niece Mary Jones, sister in law Bobbie Jones, and aunt Annie Pearl Jackson. Rosetta leaves to mourn: daughter Patricia (Earnest), granddaughter Tiauna (LC) two great grandchildren Gregory Fredrick and Cherish L’Rose, aunt Willella McKay. special nieces: Idella, Curley, Paula, and Ashley. nephew Deonte Jones.A host of great nieces and nephews. Special friends: Amanda Jernigan, Jesse Perkins, Ann McCarthy, Shirley Brown, Bennie Brown and Marianne Graziano.
