Sylvester Robinzine Sr. was born on May 31, 1944 in Darling, MS. to Fredrick D. Robinzine Sr. and Marie Dobbs-Robinzine. Sylvester was the 4th child out of 11 children. Sylvester accepted Christ at a young age. He attended Greater Little Zion in Darling, MS. Sylvester was educated in Marks, MS. public schools. He attended Malcolm X College. In 1963 he married Etta L. Haygood and this union was blessed with two wonderful children Cassandra Robinzine-Brown and Sylvester Robinzine Jr. Sylvester and Etta enjoyed 53 years of love and friendship. He was always full of energy and enthusiasm. Sylvester wore many hats; father, husband, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He had several jobs in the Delta region in Mississippi before moving to Chicago, IL in 1964. Sylvester worked multiple jobs in Chicago IL. including Mars Candy Company, where he retired after 31 years of service. He enjoyed sharing jokes that would keep you laughing and was very generous to lend a helping hand. On Tuesday, May 10, 2016 God called him home to glory. Sylvester leaves to cherish precious memories, his loving wife Etta L. Robinzine, one son Sylvester Robinzine Jr. (Lisa Robinzine), one daughter Cassandra Robinzine-Brown (John Brown Jr). Six grandchildren Christina, Kelly, Josslynn, Jordan, Bryanna, and Kendall. Three great granddaughters Chrislynn, Aubrey, and Mya. One brother Curtis (Tina) Robinzine of Indianapolis, IN. Five sisters Maple Robinzine of Memphis,TN., Minister Alma Robinzine-Matthews of Forest Park, IL. Louise and Levon Robinzine both of Marks, MS. Linda (James) Anderson of Chicago, IL. and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sylvester is preceded in death by father Fredrick D. Robinzine and mother Maria Dobbs-Robinzine. Three sisters Brenda, Joanna, Lois and two brothers Gene and Fred.
