Vera Turner passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, in South Holland, Illinois, at the age of 89. Born in Mobile, Alabama, Vera dedicated her life to her family and community.

She built a successful career at Continental Insurance Company, where she worked for over ten years before retiring. After a brief break, Vera found fulfillment as a crossing guard for the Chicago Public Schools, where she served faithfully for 17 years, ensuring the safety of countless children.

Vera enjoyed bowling and was an avid sports enthusiast. Known for her wit and strong personality, she cherished her family above all else. Vera transitioned peacefully to eternal rest, joining her mother, father, brother William Rudder, and sisters Evelyn Poe, Theresa Bradshaw, Catherine Hudson, Arthur Rudder, and Rosa Lee Thompson.

Vera leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children: Theresa Earl, Vere Earl, John Brewster, and Arthur Brewster. Her legacy includes 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
