W V ( Myles, son of the late Della Wesley and Joe Myles, was born in Tunica, Mississippi on October 28, 1938. W V was 1 of 6 siblings, three siblings; Melvin Tony, and Wanda Faye, also one grandson; Mark preceded him in their transitions; W V transitioned August 27th, 2021 at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial.
W V and Magnolia met as children growing up, and attending the same schools in Tunica, Mississippi. They began dating and after a lengthy courtship, they fell in love. In 1960, W V and Magnolia decided to get married.
From this union five adorable children were born; 3 girls Joann, Lisa and Demitrius Annette, 2 boys, Donald, and Ricky. Both Demitrius Annette and Ricky preceded him in their transitions. W V was employed by Ray Smith’s Plantation as a tractor driver until 1960, when he decided to relocate his family to Illinois, Westside of Chicago.
After getting his family settled, W V began employment in construction as a Jack-hammer operator until 1963, then worked as a machine operator for Apex Steel Company for a short period before landing a forklift operator’s position at Witco Chemical Company. On December 4, 1974 in the course of his employment with Witco Chemical Company,
W. V sustained a severe injury to his right hip which resulted in numerous surgical procedures deeming him temporarily incapicipated. He attempted to continue working upon doctors releasing him for work 1976, only to reinjure the hip and later determined partially disabled. However, with a long fought battle he was finally determined permanently and totally disabled in 1997.
W V enjoyed family gatherings, friend outings, road trips, card playing, Dominos and Sports. He occasionally played baseball, and also enjoyed attending professional games when possible.
W V leaves to mourn and celebrate his life a loving wife; Magnolia 3 children; Donald, Joann (Maurice,) and Lisa (Jeffery,) 7 grandchildren; Monique, Lakeesha, Delonno, Lorenzo, Markie, Tracy, and Jamaya, 10 great grandchildren; Dejanique, Darrion, Jada, Delonno Jr, Grayson, Tracy, Zariel, Kalayah,Tracy Jr, Kairee 2 sisters; Doris (Dolton,Illinois) Bobbie (Lafayette, Indiana) and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends
